The Hopland Women’s Festival
June 4th – 6th, 2004

When women unite, celebrate, and embrace our diversity – we build a stronger, confident and capable community which empowers us all on both our individual and collective paths.

The festival is held on Full Moon Ranch, 560 secluded acres of pristine woman-owned land. There is creekside camping, simple showers, and a delightful swimming hole. Hot healthy and mostly organic meals are served up daily from our country kitchen. Women and girls only.

Come experience this women-only festial of music, comedy, crafts, workshops and fun! The Original Fat-Bottom Revue will perform on the Main Stage on Saturday, at 9:35 pm.

Fat Girl Speaks

Founded on progressive feminist principles of size positivity and the promotion of natural body diversity, FatGirl Speaks is a day-long festival which seeks to energize, empower, uplift and celebrate women of size and our allies!

FatGirl Speaks features political and educational workshops during the morning session, a pre-show FatGirl Fashion Show, and culminates in a full evening program of live music, dance, spoken word, performance art and more. This year’s show will also feature an on-site After Party with DJs, an on-site bar and restaurant and dancing! Pre-show and between events we will have fun extras like FatGirl Foto Both and a FatGirl Kissing Booth! Reva Lucian and her troupe will be performing and teaching a workshop.

Big Burlesque Presents: The award-winning Original Fat-Bottom Revue in “Big Big Love”
Feb. 20, 21, 27 & 28, 2004

Sometimes sweet, sometimes savory, but always sultry, the dancers of the Original Fat-Bottom Revue are back in fine, full form for an ALL-NEW feauture-length event! Due to popular demand, we have expanded our show to FOUR INCREDIBLE NIGHTS at the intimate Studio Theater of Theater Rhinoceros. If you’ve seen our show before, you already know that we incorporate old-school burlesque and new-school attitudes and many different forms of dance (from belly to ballet), and if you’re new to the Fat-Bottom Revue, you are in for a treat from the world’s only gender-inclusive, exclusively plus-size Burlesque ensemble. Added especially for this show is an erotica reading from the work of Hanne Blank, fat activist and author of many books including “Big Big Love”.

We will also be screening a documentary about the Padded Lillies, so come see them (and if you’re lucky, you might spot one in the audience…or onstage!) Looking forward to shaking and shimmying it for all of you in February at Theater Rhino!
